I think, it is a bug. It starts fading out, and keeps stuck in varios states of transparency. And as I said, on my second computer it always fades out till you can't see it.
Does your other computer have Fade effect enabled? Here it shows fadeout (translucent) at some level if desktop effect Fade is active. After disabling effect it works as expected. It seems that is some timing issue.
