Anyone else having a slow shutdown response? I click shutdown, and then nothing happens for a long time. Anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds. The taskbar and panels are unresponsive during this time, though application windows are still responsive. Finally the shutdown is initiated and then it moves along quickly thru the kernel portion and powers off. I've seen this on two different Sony laptops.
I have seen exactly the same thing with XFCE on SuSE 11.4. Now I log out without options (so no shutdown etcetera) I do not have the delay anymore. Thought it was related to polkit actions that where not defined correctly. It can be unrelated, but mybe not. Because my sandybridge processor based HP probook 6360b comes to a complete unresponsive halt when using KDE every half an hour (without any error message) I had to stop using KDE. Luckily I can use KDE apps still. Very much am hoping that 12.1 will solve this.
