It means that KDE app developers can now use call WebKit with integration into KDE SC's cookie and password management and be sure that binary compatibility won't be broken for the entire 4.x series. The KPart to use with Konqueror does not have this compatibility guaranty, but it's still developed. Alternatively you can use Rekonq as WebKit-based KDE web browser. What happened to the webkitpart package in 4.4?
In the feature plan on techbase.kde.org it says
Move KDE integration of QtWebKit into kdelibs (but not KPart!)
but I'm not completely sure what that means. Is webkit now integrated into khtml, or is there a setting somewhere to switch to it, or what?
