Like any other serious major distro openSUSE is not a rolling release distro.
No? Then why did oS officially release, and claim to have officially release, KDE4.2?
Haven't you been using openSUSE long enough to know about the update policies?
No, I don't believe that I have been using oS long enough to know the "update" policy.
Confusion is not only yours, many consider that all stuff on http://download.opensuse.org/ is offical, but actualy directories [DIR] debug/ [DIR] distribution/ [DIR] factory/ [DIR] source/ [DIR] update/ contain openSUSE officaly supported stuff. While all in: [DIR] repositories/ is not offical, like listed below:
Parent Directory http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/ SLE_10/ <http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/SLE_ 10/> 06-Feb-2009 21:04 - openSUSE_10.3/ [etc]
The fact that KDE stuff in http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE: is created mostly by guys that work for Novell/SUSE can give you confidence that it will work without major breakages, but that doesn't make it official.
