Try control Q (^Q) which unlocks a control S (^S).
Well, when using Konsole, that function has been given to the "Scroll Lock" key, not the XON / XOFF ASCII codes it used in days gone by (I don't know at what point Konsole adopted this convention, but I don't think it was always like that). Randall Schulz
