OK I didn't realise that....sorry!
Is this just for Xorg? I am running 9.1 Pro and Xfree 4.3.99.902(4.4.0 RC2). When I try to turn on the 3D in Sax2 i get a message stating "The installed card cannot use hardware 3D/Open GL acceleration". Is it straight forward enough to install Xorg over Xfree?
Cheers,
Jim

Hmmm, now that is odd, because unless you are running your own kernel rather than the SuSE kernel, it should work in your present setup, unless too you are using a newer, unsupported version of XFree. There are replacement Xorg files from SuSE for 9.1 and I highly recommend them, yes! Here's your location to download: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/X/Xorg/Xorg-X11R6.8.1/i386
I have the 9200SE model and the only time I used the ATI drivers were under 8.2 or 9.0 while playing with one of Mantel's experimental kernels that didn't have the radeon module. Oh, be sure to update your sax2 files as well from that same site, just go back a few steps from the Xorg files.
Everything should replace the XFree files without problems and the newer sax2 will give you the tools needed to work with Xorg efficiently. A simple rpm -Uhv and you will have Xorg.
