Default SuSE KDE3-theme

Hello! I temporaily tried the other themes in KDE3 (SuSE 8.1) and now I can't find my way back to the default theme. There is no such theme under the KDE theme manager. Any solutions? I have just installed koffice-1.2.1-14.i386.rpm for SuSE 8.0 but when I try to run any koffice apps (eg. kword) I get: kword: relocation error: /opt/kde3/lib/libkofficecore.so.2: undefined symbol: static_QUType_varpt Does anyone have any suggestions for a solution to this problem ? kprinter und Druckersettings in Suse 8.1

Hi folks! Ich habe ein Problem mit kprinter in Suse 8.1. Ich verwende einen Xerox DocuPrint M750 Drucker und habe diesen auch erfolgreich mit Yast2 bzw. CUPS eingerichtet. Der Druck ist damit auch einwandfrei möglich und bis vor kurzem konnte ich über kprinter auch diverse Einstellungen an den Treibersettings vornehmen. Nun habe ich aber vor kurzem KDE über YOU geupdated auf die Version 3.0.4 bzw. 3.0.5. Auch ein Patch für CUPS war dabei. Seitdem kann ich aber unter kprinter in den Einstellungen keine Treibereinstellungen mehr vornehmen, der gesamte Karteireiter ist weg. Als Medienauswahl habe ich auch nur noch Normalpapier und Folie. Ich habe bereits CUPS geupdated auf die aktuelle Version 1.1.18 und es funktioniert auch einwandfrei, lediglich die Parametereinstellungen des Druckers bzw. des Treibers (ppd-Files) sind nicht mehr möglich. kprinter gibt mir folgende Versionen aus: KDE 3.0.5, QT 3.0.5, kprinter 0.0.1. CUPS hat die Version 1.1.18-0 Die ppd-Files sind entsprechend vorhanden (/usr/share/cups/model/...) und wurden auch bei der Installation des Druckers über Yast2 richtig installiert bzw. interpretiert (/etc/cups/ppd/lp.ppd für den Standarddrucker). Vielleicht kann mir jemand bei dem problem helfen, da es auch bei anderen nach dem Update aufzutreten scheint. Bei einem Freund von mir (ebenfalls 8.1) ist nach dem Update ebenfalls keine Konfiguration des Druckers über kprinter möglich. cu ... kde2 problem

Hi, I am using SuSE 8.0 with the default KDE that came with the distro. But the KDE2 executables are not showing up properly. It comes in the screen in a very large size, often much bigger than the screen itself, and some icons are visible but no text on the interface. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Arijit

Kcontrol index empty for default users

Hi, the menuentry for the KDE control centre is gone. Don't know why... When I call the control centre manually (launching 'Kcontrol') the window appears but the index menu (left side) resides empty. How can I get the control centre back for default users? Everything is running fine for user root! Thx, A.K.

HG needs a KMail person to help him out. ----- Start forwarded message ----- How can I teach KAddressbook to keep the column widths I used when I closed it? I only have three colums that I use, but everytime I open it the columns are so wide that I can see only one of them. Next: When I double click on an entry the default is the business address being shown in the new window. How can I change this to the home address as default? Gets kind of annoying to always have to klick several times to get the home address (since that is what I use most). Sichern der KAddressbook Einstellungen

Hallo miteinander! Bevor ich hier angesichts der Widerspenstigkeit des Adressbuches meine angemessenen Sprachanwendungen verliere hier meine Frage ;-) System: 8.0 (english). Wie kann ich das KAddressbook dazu bringen folgendes zu tun: - Spaltenbreiteneinstellungen sichern, so dass beim naechsten Oeffnen nicht der Vorname das ganze Fenster einnimmt und alles andere wieder nicht sichtbar ist - Importieren der Postleitzahl; Ich habe aus Wartungsgruenden das Adrressbuch exportiert und dann wieder importiert. Ging auch ok, nur dass die PLZs nicht mehr da waren... Alles andere ging. Und ja, ich habe es probiert mit Spaltenzuweisung beim importieren und alles... - Anzeige der HOME Adresse und NICHT Business Adresse als default beim Doppelklicken auf einen Eintrag Danke schon mal!! Hello Group, Does anyone know how to make Galeon use kmail as the default mailer? I've entered kmail into the Galeon field where I *think* it should be but when you click on a mailto: on a web site, it doesn't go to the mailer. Graphical environement won't start

Hi, I am totally new in Linux and just tried to installed Suse 8.1 Everything went fine until the graphical environment did not start (If i am correct this is KDE, right?) Anyway, all I get whe restarting the computer is the command line. Help please. Thanks a lot, Carlos
