g'morning everybody, I have a question concerning the integration of compiled programs into the KDE3 environment. When I ./configure, make, make install a program (here: Quanta Plus) how do I get all the icons, mime types and links conveniently integrated into my kde-menue (for all users, not only for my user account). I found that when I do a make install all the programs stuff is copied in /usr/local/kde (all the Quanta Plus stuff, you know). Under this directory I find all the icons, docs, mime-links, desktop-files and-so-on. My kde3 installation is in /opt/kde3. I also saw that in the /opt/kde3/ directory there is the same directory structury as the one found in /usr/local/kde. Hm ... This similarity makes me curious .... Do I need to copy each single file from /usr/local/kde to the /opt/kde3 directory??? ... or ... ... do I need to copy every single file to the .kde directory within my home-directory??? I guess there is a straight forward - and convenient - procedure for getting all the menu-items of a compiled program into the kde-menu (for all users!). btw.: I am running SuSE 7.3 & kde303 (upgraded from kde2) on a Thinkpad T21 I'll be happy for any hint Cheers Ian
