Open the rc-config editor from YaST2 (under "System"). Select Base-Administration > Login . Verify that DISPLAYMANAGER is KDM. That sounds like XDM. After upgrading a clean SuSE 7.3 install to KDE3.0.1, the KDM login background has gone to a plain grey background with "Linux" in the upper left corner.
I've tried to get the background reset from within the KDE control center (as root), but those settings don't change anything. Does anyone know how to get back the old settings?
Thanks,
