I think that you probably need webmin rather than OPenWbem. OpenWbem is used to manage a network of machines rather than just one server. Nick On Wednesday 19 October 2005 08:18, Andy wrote:
But is there a web admin interface for SLES 9?
VNC works, but from what I see in SLES8 there is a web interface administration tool. In 9?
This is the first time that I install a Enterprise Server ... trying to figure out "the best" of it.

Hi to all,
I just installed Suse Enterprise 9 and I read in the documentation that there is a web administration interface for managing the server. Is this OpenWbem??? ... if yes then.... HOW Do I use it? I'm trying to make it work somehow, but can't find the "main ideea".I followed http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/14625.html these suggestions, but still don't get the main Ideea.
Am I missing something?
I saw a screenshot from SLES 8 web interface from a browser, it looked really ok... I want the same in SLES 9.
OpenWBEM does use HTTP, but not HTML. It speaks CIM-XML. You can't talk to the OpenWBEM CIMOM with a web browser; you need a CIM client. One way to access the CIMOM through a web browser is through the health monitoring pages of Novell's iManager.
