[openFATE 314592] Include LXQt Desktop in GUI Install options
Feature changed by: Tomáš Chvátal (scarabeus_iv)
Feature #314592, revision 12
Title: Include LXQt Desktop in GUI Install options

- openSUSE Distribution: Implementation
+ openSUSE Distribution: Rejected by Tomáš Chvátal (scarabeus_iv)
+ reject reason: requirement for the another DE to be included in
+ installer is openQA coverage. Thus if you want your favorite DE
+ included in installer and not as pattern (you can still get to it quite
+ comfortably) you should go ahead and start writting the tests for it to
+ be enabled.
Priority
Requester: Desirable

Requested by: Carl Fletcher (caf4926)
Partner organization: openSUSE.org

Description:
LXQt (was Razor-Qt) provides a kde3 like experience. It is low on
resources, has a familiar and friendly feel in use.
Although it is available as a pattern in Software Management, it would
be nice to see this alongside the 'other' desktop options.

Relations:
- Leap 42.3: revamp the desktop selection screen (url:
https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/14936)
- Include Cinnamon as option during installation (feature/id: 320916)

Business case (Partner benefit):
openSUSE.org: It is low on resources, has a familiar and friendly feel
in use.
It will fill a large kde3 hungry user base

Discussion:

you want it to be included on DVD ?

#2: phil osophe (posophe) (2012-11-30 20:59:48)
I think it will be more simple to add it at a desktop-based spin on
suse studio.

#3: Karl Cheng (qantas94heavy) (2016-11-15 13:00:58)
At this moment LXQt (merger of Razor-Qt and LXDE-Qt) is still only
available as a pattern and not a GUI install option -- hope this is
added to the next Leap release.
