Feature added by: Sławomir Lach (Lachu) Feature #317978, revision 1 Title: Userspace scheduler openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Neutral Requested by: Sławomir Lach (lachu) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Currently we have CFS and BrainFuck schedulers. There's no way to add support for schedulers module into kernel. My idea is to create kernel API for user space scheduler. This kind of scheduler can only scheduling its children. Process management by user space scheduler are not managed by kernel(of course kernel still allocates memory and do a lot of stuff). Scheduler will use join-like call to select currently process, so child process will only execute on user space scheduler execution time. When scheduler process will exit, children will been scheduling by kernel. Kernel wil l still manages other process and scheduler process. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/317978
