[openFATE 312406] Support for ISC DHCP client for IPv6
Feature changed by: Marius Tomaschewski (mtomaschewski)
Feature #312406, revision 3
Title: Support for ISC DHCP client for IPv6

openSUSE Distribution: Rejected by Marius Tomaschewski (mtomaschewski)
reject reason: The ISC dhcp-client is supported via DHCLIENT6_BIN="
dhclient6" already for a while (since 2009 / openSUSE >= 11.1?, default
on 12.x).
Priority
Requester: Desirable

Requested by: Björn Voigt (bjoernv)
Partner organization: openSUSE.org

Description:
Currently only "dhcp6c" (https://fedorahosted.org/dhcpv6/) can be
selected as a DHCPv6 client in /etc/sysconfig/network/dhcp: # Which
DHCPv6 client should be used? # Currently only the dhcp6c client is
supported. # DHCLIENT6_BIN=""
Since this client has been obsoleted by ISC dhcp, the DHCPv6 client of
ISC should be used as default and as an alternative.

+ Discussion:
+ #1: Marius Tomaschewski (mtomaschewski) (2013-02-18 12:51:45)
+ BTW: The variable description has been fixed too (Dez 05 2011): - Do
+ not suggest dhcp6c client from dropped dhcpv6 package in ifup-dhcp,
+ marked dhcp6c as deprecated in network/dhcp and changed to use
+ dhclient6 as first choice (bnc#734723).
