[openFATE 312839] Creating SLES11 SP1(x86_64) as paravirtualized guest OS with Oracle VM 3.0
Feature changed by: Chen wu (ericwu_vip)
Feature #312839, revision 4
Title: Creating SLES11 SP1(x86_64) as paravirtualized guest OS with
Oracle VM 3.0

Hackweek VII: Unconfirmed
Priority
Requester: Desirable

Requested by: Chen wu (ericwu_vip)
Partner organization: openSUSE.org

Description:
Oracle VM 3.0 is the latest release of Oracle's server virtualization
and management solution. Currently, SLES does not in the platforms list
that supported by Oracle VM 3.0. Hope that support for SLES can be
added to OVM 3.0 release notes.

Business case (Partner benefit):
openSUSE.org: Be able to run Oracle DB on SLES11 in virtualized
environments... Oracle is pushing OracleVM as the only supported
Virtualization Platform to run their products on.
It currently only supports Oracle Unbreakable Linux and RHEL

Hmm, as it Xen SLES11 should work just fine. On the other side, would
be nice to have SLES11SP2 as supported Guest for OracleVM

+ Yes, in progress.Oracle VM (3.0.3) testing (HVM, PVM & PVHVM) for
+ SLES11 SP2(x86_64) is complete. Results are with Oracle for final
+ certification approval.
