Feature changed by: Ned Ulbricht (ned_ulbricht) Feature #313145, revision 3 Title: Split out kernel documentation from kernel-source Package Wishlist: Evaluation by engineering manager Priority Requester: Important Requested by: matthias propst (l1zard) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Just was installing kernel-source package to get the fully documentation to the linux kernel in the the Documentation sub directory. This was also installing some kernel development packages. Would it not be better to package this information in the kernel-doc package or even better in an extra package. + Discussion: + #1: Ned Ulbricht (ned_ulbricht) (2012-03-06 16:31:57) + Disk is cheap these days. + Further, the most authoritative documentation for the kernel is the + source. And splitting packages up adds complexity, plus risks losing + files. I don't see a clear benefit here. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/313145
