[openFATE 311076] Change MAC via YaST
Feature changed by: Tim Edwards (tk83)
Feature #311076, revision 2
Title: Change MAC via YaST

openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed
Priority
Requester: Important

Requested by: Anton Reznik (reanxp-rus)
Partner organization: openSUSE.org

Description:
YaST can't change MAC-address. Now, for change this address need do
ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:00:00:11:22:33. Think, it's not SUSE-way.
Change MAC-address may be simple. With YaST.

+ Discussion:
+ #1: Tim Edwards (tk83) (2011-01-26 12:22:56)
+ Why is this needed? YAST should be able to configure the most commonly
+ used settings on a machine, so that the typical desktop user doesn't
+ have to touch the command line.
+ However changing the MAC address of a NIC is not a common desktop task,
+ I don't understand why you'd even need to do it?
