Feature changed by: Tom Zöhner (zoehneto) Feature #310268, revision 4 Title: KDE3.5 please include it in releases Package Wishlist: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Tony Young (tony65) Description: I wish to heavens that openSUSE would forget about LXDE and resume the inclusion of KDE3.5.10 as an option for a desktop manager........I am getting strong anecdotal evidence that many users of openSUSE (including myself) are refusing to upgrade from either version 11.0 or 11.1 because later versions do not include KDE3.5......In my opinion, KDE4.x is still not ready and the latest material on the Trinity project to bring KDE3.5 back up to speed is one classic example of how badly KDE4.x is considered by a very large percentage of KDE users. Discussion: #1: Pavol Rusnak (prusnak) (2010-08-02 09:53:08) Duplicate of Feature#310238 #2: Grozdan Nikolov (microchip8) (2010-08-02 22:13:34) LOL? Trinity has delivered nothing so far and I wouldn't bet on this project either. And where's this "very large percentage" of users being disatisfied with KDE4? Those who don't like KDE4 are actually the minority so it seems to me all you do is use false data to boost your point and secretly hope that openSUSE will include KDE3. And who's going to further develop/maintain KDE3? You? + #3: Tom Zöhner (zoehneto) (2010-08-03 19:23:38) (reply to #2) + You're absolutely right, except for the few who still run KDE3 on 11.0 + /11.1 everyone ever lives with KDE4 as it is or has switched to Gnome. + Both groups, KDE4-Users and exKDE3-Users, don't care for KDE3 in the + installer, so i suggest that the few KDE3 Users remaining either swich + to something else or shut up and stop complaining! -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/310268
