Feature changed by: Adrian Schröter (adrianSuSE)
Feature #307506, revision 8
Title: Improve Factory check-in workflow

- Buildservice: Evaluation
+ Buildservice: Done
Priority
Requester: Important
Projectmanager: Important

Requested by: Stephan Kulow (coolo)

Description:
We have currently the problem that we do not want to do permanent
checkins into Factory project to allow depending packages finish
building. But on the other hand, we want to do the review at any point
of time and push the new sources into the project at once.
We had a discussion about this and this was the results:
* Create a concept for requests states, reflecting the currently
internal states happen during checkin. Reflecting legal and review
states. This can be implemented by automatic adding reviewers to new
requests as configured in the project or package.
* Add a functionality to add comments to requests without changing the
state. (AI: Adrian create xml concept)
* internal check_if_valid_source_dir checks must become public (AI:
adrian/ro/lrupp)

Discussion:
#1: Adrian Schröter (adriansuse) (2010-01-22 16:29:11)
need to move it to 1.8 milestone

#2: Adrian Schröter (adriansuse) (2010-02-20 11:59:31) (reply to #1)
which is called 1.8 now.

#3: Adrian Schröter (adriansuse) (2010-04-23 11:46:52)
Removing the support of the execution of "precheckin.sh", because of
serious security risks.
It would be possible to support execution of a script during build time
though.

#4: Adrian Schröter (adriansuse) (2010-04-23 11:47:40)
removing "clean server side repo cloning suport" here, this is part of
#308637

#5: Adrian Schröter (adriansuse) (2010-04-23 11:49:25)
First two items are implemented, missing is the part to make
"check_if_valid_source_dir" available to the public and active by
default for Factory.

+ #6: Adrian Schröter (adriansuse) (2010-05-20 18:39:28)
+ * review comment is implemented (request comment approach was not
+ needed after discussion with rudi)
+ * source validation is implemented in osc.
