Feature #309357, revision 4
Title: Add the WHIRLPOOL login password option+PC Tracking

openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed
Priority
Requester: Important

Requested by: ryan smith (ryan1414)

Description:
My first feature request for OpenSuse 11.3 is to add the
WHIRLPOOL encryption as a choice for the login password.
More info can be found here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WHIRLPOOL
Also the encryption options should have security ratings displayed
like
this:
Whirlpool (Strongest)
MD5 (Okay)
etc
etc
My second feature request is to have a PC tracking feature so users can
find their PC if it gets stolen.
The iPhone has a feature like this so OpenSuse should too. It could
work by users going into Control Center
and clicking on "Computer Tracking" and then they type in their email
address and choose when they want the
ip address of the internet connection sent to them, like this:
Find your lost or stolen computer:
Your Email Address:
example@xxxxxxxxxxx (mailto:example@xxxxxxxxxxx)
Send Location : Never
Once per Hour
Once per Day
If the computer has a GPS or wifi connected then those co-ordinates
could be sent too. It should support IPv4 and
IPv6 ip addresses.

Please file a separate entry for the PC tracking feature and delete it
from here, thanks

+ Please explain what Whirlpool does better than SHA-512/SHA-256 (the
+ latter is already available in 11.3) or Blowfish.
