Feature changed by: Ralf Petter (petter_r) Feature #308456, revision 2 Title: improve nomad/xrdp to allow to attach to physical x11 session openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Nick Salem (nsalem) Description: Nomad/XRDP is a great tool that allows for high performance remote desktop to an opensuse desktop. The tool was first introduced in opensuse 11.1. The tool however lacks functionality when compared to Windows RDP. Nomad allows us you to create a new session on a remote desktop and then disconnect and reconnect to that same session. It will not however connect or attach to an existing physical X11 session on that remote machine. The only tools that allow one to do this are x11vnc and nx with shadow option but both are terribly slow. Having this capability would be awesome and would bring it on par with what Windows users have. Use Case: This is an issue for users that physically work on a machine locally for example at work and have number of long running processes and many apps open and lock the session and go home and then want to connect to that same machine at work from home. Nomad will connect them to either a new session or a different session than they have at work. + Discussion: + #1: Ralf Petter (petter_r) (2010-04-16 21:47:11) + Yes this will be really a very nice feature for all users of + Opensuse/SLED -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/308456
