Feature changed by: Jan Engelhardt (jengelh) Feature #307514, revision 4 Title: cdrecord alternative openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Thomas Peter (lizzarddude) Description: Mr. Schillings constant ramblings about how openSuSE and other Linux distributions are violating the Copyright of his License Mixup should lead to development of an non-cdrecord-based alternative. Discussion: #1: Pavol Rusnak (prusnak) (2009-08-26 13:44:06) There is libburnia project - http://libburnia-project.org/ . I have the packages in X11:xfce project. I'm not sure if it is not based on cdrecord, though. (I hope not). #2: Markus K (kamikazow) (2009-11-17 00:24:57) While I'm sure Schilling could possibly have some mental problems, that's not a reason to reject all code he's written. In fact, he's a fine programmer. As long as his code is FOSS (no matter if GPL or newer CDDLed code), his programs can and should stay. + #3: Jan Engelhardt (jengelh) (2009-12-05 14:28:36) (reply to #2) + Irrespective of what problems people have with another, cdrtools + remains well-maintained, which is what counts in the end. You can't say + that of cdrkit. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/307514
