Yup, but the "-vv" makes rpm print some useful diagnostic output:

Ok, then I immediately retract my stupid question ;-)

There has to be a query which does a database access and
rpm -vv -qi imprettysurethispackagedoesnotexist would work the same way.

Something new to learn every day ;-)
