...which is what Relax-and-Recover (ReaR) does, see https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Disaster_Recovery For an initial overview you may have a look at https://en.opensuse.org/images/8/85/Essentials_about_disaster_recovery_with_... But ReaR basically requires "same hardware", i.e. it is not primarily intended when your laptop has fallen down the stairs and you "just bought" another one in the next shop. There is no such thing as a disaster recovery solution that "just works".
