rather than one of the other various partitions.

The default of openSUSE is that /var/lib/docker is on the root filesystem
and not an own subvolume (which would solve your rollback problems)
or partition (which would additional solve performance problems, deadlocks,
and a lot of more problems).

Please put /var/lib/docker on an own partition. Everything else doesn't
make any sense.
