Did an update on an old ASUS eeePC to the above TW. With Kernel

Switching back to Kernel 4.12.11 fixes the problem.
Graphics chip is a Intel mobile GM945 GM
Anyone else sees this problem?

Haven’t used my eeePC in a very long time and updating it would take
all day
with its glacially slow storage…

Once started, it runs on its own...but it takes time, indeed

Is xf86-video-intel installed? If so, uninstall that (so it uses the
far less
buggy modesetting DDX instead).

So I guess it needs an additional boot parameter then? Nomodeset?
