Definitely worth watching the cron files, if they vanish again at some point.

Maybe the default of the service should anyhow be 'enabled', so it is run once
at boot time. Else you might change relevant settings in
/etc/sysconfig/btrfsmaintenance and they are ignored because of a non-existing
cronjob...
