Both point to /dev/sda1

Verify thoroughly. Read the log, check the kernel line and compare. I
bet they differ.

and/or "/dev/sda1" is not necessarily the same drive on every boot.

This should clearly not happen on a system with a single HDD inside...
Nevertheless, I have tried disk-by-ID as well, but that does not change the
result
