Not sure, but I would guess "Ruhezustand" is not hibernation, but
rather suspend to ram or similar.

As I said, the two relevant options are "Standby" and "Ruhezustand" plus "Herunterfahren/power down" und "Neustart/restart", which are not relevant for that problem.

try with "systemctl hibernate" instead of the KDE options.

KDE provides it. I use its options or forget it, everything else is for testing purposes.

journald might help, but "man journald" doesn't exist on my
computer. So, which of the binary log-file in /var/log/journal, how
do I open it and what will I be looking for?
None.
Cool.
Use journalctl, probably with "-b" (to get the messages since the last
boot) and grep for "hibernat"

Thanks.
YAST to the rescue!
Thanks Carlos, nicolas

output see below, one minute activation
RAM 16GB - Swap 17GB, computer powered down, up.
first 13:38:22 Standby
second 13:42:30 Ruhezustand
Failure at 13:42:39
