What is the recommended way of upgrading a system from a previous beta of 42.2 to this beta?
zypper dup
I add a safety net.
Switch to text console (ctrl-alt-f1)
login as root tmux new
Switch back to graphics mode (ctrl-alt-f7)
su - tmux attach zypper dup --no-allow-vendor-change
Thus if the graphical session crashes, the zypper run will continue running.
The "--no-allow-vendor-change" switch respects packages downloaded from other repositories. Packman is not yet active, but it would be the thing to do. Optional, of course.
Makes probably sense, as the GUI freezes after a zypper dup from 42.2b2 https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1001660 Killing the X-session (CRTL-ALT-Backspace) brings back the login screen and allows reboot Cheers Axel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
