Why does pam_unix.so not work on your machine?
There should be no reason anymore to prefer pam_unix2.so ove pam_unix.so, even
if I don't
like the pam_unix.so hack to workaround broken applications like kscreenlocker.
That only
hides the problem and is not helpful for people, which have to use something
else for
authentication.

Development of pam_unix2.so stopped quite some time ago and will vanish in the
future.
