Hello,
I ran Tumbleweed since some weeks now then I added Cinnamon repo and installad and used it perfectly until last zypper update wherein Cinnamon presents a failure (empty panel)
sudo ln -sf /usr/lib64/cinnamon/libcinnamon.so /usr/lib64 sudo ln -sf /usr/lib64/cinnamon/libcinnamon-js.so /usr/lib64
https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/4500
It's an upstream bug existing for years.

Creating a file under /etc/ld.so.conf.d with "/usr/lib64/cinnamon" as content would be the "cleaner" fix for this. Use "ldconfig" as root after and the libs should be able to get called.

Hello Fabian,
Nice to know this option!
You mean that I could create a file:
marco@linux-turion64:~> ls -l /etc/ld.so.conf.d totale 16 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 272 25 giu 08.04 graphviz.conf -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 30 8 set 14.46 kdelibs3.conf -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 20 19 giu 19.00 smoke-gen.conf -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 211 30 lug 05.07 wxWidgets.conf marco@linux-turion64:~> cat /etc/ld.so.conf.d/kdelibs3.conf /opt/kde3/lib64 /opt/kde3/lib
sudo touch /etc/ld.so.conf.d/cinnamon.conf
containing
cat /etc/ld.so.conf.d/cinnamon.conf
/usr/lib64/cinnamon
Right?
Just this?
Thanks.
Regards,
Yes, that should do the trick. Don't forget to either reboot or invoke "ldconfig" as root afterwards. Fabian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
