I just did a mega zypper update of opensuse Factory tonight - I thought that I would avoid the rush :)
This was a big mistake as far as VMware-Workstation is concerned because after updating some ~530 packages (new kernal etc) VMware Workstation can no longer compile the vmnet module. ERROR : Failed to build vmnet. Failed to execute the build command. Everthing else works ok.
Side note 1 : I have been running Vmware Workstation on Factory fine with zero problems for at least the last 3 weeks. I just updated to the lastest version of VMware Workstation] yesterday (v10.0.4). Everything worked fine for 24 hours unitil I did a "zypper up" tonight (20141031) I am running : VMware-Workstation-Full-10.0.4-2249910.x86_64.bundle
Side note 2 : I experienced no problems updaing another 64 bit installation that did not have VMware-Workstation and everything is working OK on a 32 bit installation.

Hello all My issue "Failed to build vmnet" with kernel 3.17 is now history I found a patch for the 3.17 kernel on VMware communties.
