Hello List ,
- in case of interest :
google-earth-stable-6.0.3.2197-0.i386 will not function :
" googleearth-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory " Seems you're missing to install libX11-6 (if you are on a 32bit system) or
Quoting ellanios82
: libX11-6-32bit if you're on a 64bit system.
- many thanks
- still no joy : now getting errors : needs " libXrender & libXext.so.6:" Why don't you install the RPM with [...]?
zypper in --no-r google-earth-stable_current_i386.rpm
(or x86_64, whatever fits in your case)
that way, you will automatically get the dependencies required. ................
- thank you : i am educated
zypper in --no-r google-earth-stable_current : this i did & install went smoothly
- unfortunately google-earth crashes as soon as the blue earth globe appears
thanks ellan7.1.2.2041 Hi.
Recent versions of Google Earth are broken. You have two options:
1) Search the latest known working version in Internet and install it 2) Follow the steps detailed at http://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/485283-Google-Earth-7?p=2611672#po...
I followed option 2 and works fine with that version 6.x and 7.1.2.2041 (the one I have installed by downloading the rpm from Google's Earth web) on 13.1. I haven't tried Factory but I think it should work anyway. .............
