As long as people with slow internet, like me, can still pull from somewhere that doesn't change every day, because it takes me days to download the DVD, for instance. If it is a moving target, I'm automatically out...
Not necessarly. It doesn't create the amount of a DVD every day, far from it. E.g. my factory installation wasn't updated in about 3 weeks, still zypper up reports: Overall download size: 315,5 MiB. There are surely days when there is a larger update - e.g. mass compiles, but they are very rare and you would still download less than a DVD as you download only what you have installed.
