Jokes aside, why can't live cd/usb images be made rather than DVD's anyway? A live image with Desktop X, UEFI/secure boot ready and negate the need for a DVD download? Any live image needs to provide some applications. Without them, it doesn't make sense. Now make a list of application, you need to provide and you will see: They don't fit on a CD any more. The only thing that still works with a CD is to provide an installation (only) system . And todays USB thumb drives begin at 4GB size. So it doesn't make sense to
