Any tips an where to look for the cause?
Yes, this happends frecuently when the nvidia propietary drivers require reinstall because the system has overwrriten one of its changes. run nvidia-installer --uninstall and then reinstall the driver.
OK, I tried that (switch to console login, uninstall the drivers, reboot just to be sure, install the 313.09 drivers again from console, reboot again). I can immediately trigger the segfault on a previously working game (a Steam game which worked fine in 12.2 until I updated to the latest KDE factory or I installed 12.3B1).
No one else running into this?
I've tried just about everything I can think of, including uninstalling and reinstalling the Nvidia proprietary drivers (both 310 and 313)... I can still trigger an X segfault pretty easily by launching any game (Steam games, or other Linux native games).
All I've got left to try is another 12.3 Window Manager or a roll-back to 12.2 (without installing KDE from Factory). I still can't really discover the "real" root case... it's possible to be the Nvidia drivers, but when this started happening on my 12.2 install, the only thing that changed was a KDE update to 4.9.98 (from 4.9....93 or 89 I think... it was a 4.10 RC). I did not update the kernel or the Nvidia drivers at the time.
