Last update caused many mkinitrd errors not resolved by manually rerunning mkinitrd, so kernel-desktop-3.4.0-3.1.i686 couldn't find eth0. So I tried: zypper in -f kernel-desktop ... Resolving package dependencies... Problem cannot install both kernel-desktop-3.4.0-3.1.i686 and kernel-desktop-3.4.0-3.1.i686 Solution 1: do not keep kernel-desktop-3.4.0-3.1.i686 installed Solution 2: do not install kernel-desktop-3.4.0-3.1.i686 ... This would seem to be a bug. Anyone agree? I proceeded by choosing #1, got no errors from mkinitrd, and booting from it eth0 works. Menu.lst got a duplicate 3.4.0-3 kernel entry in the process. Another bug (mkinitrd? perl-Bootloader? yast2-bootloader?)? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
