I've installed Fedora 17 KDE live iso under VirtualBox and the splash screen looks very professional compared to the tawdry look on openSUSE. I know Fedora have had a good head start but I hope a more professional look is envisaged for openSUSE. Regards Sid.
Did you comment something special on openFATE for plymouth. Did you find any defect about plymouth's integration in factory?

Besides artwork. Who else is on the Plymouth team?
Cheers!
