Hi Roman,
Plymouth failed. No graphics. Just text showing the initial start of the boot process. Then a blinking cursor moved to the top left corner of the screen.
The screen stayed black until the upstream kdm theme appeared.
After double checking again it seems that these proprietary drivers would require the vga=xxxx kernel option. This as they do not offer KMS support. I have updated the wiki with this information and I would appreciate it if you could test it again with the vga=xxxx (with the correct number for your display) and let us know the result.
Thanks

Raymond

I checked /usr/lib/plymouth directory and space-flares.so file is missing.
In addition there was an error when running mkinitrd.
Check 1st and 2nd paragraph above.
This could be why we're not seeing Plymouth due to scriplet failure.
Follow up The lib search should be checking /usr/lib64/plymouth for space-flares.so instead of /usr/lib/plymouth. Did you get Plymouth working on a x86 machine? I'm testing on an x86_64 machine. -- Cheers! Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
