I disagree only because I have seen Arch and its rolling upgrade model recommended for some server use. I've never done that, but I can easily see a end-user familiar with Arch and using it for servers to assume the same target goal for Tumbleweed. I believe I've even seen that expectation mentioned on the opensuse end user mailing list.
If you want to use it in that manner, great, use it. I know multi-national corporations that rely on an ever-moving "rolling" released Linux enviromnent just fine. And I know some small businesses that would never do such a thing. It all comes down to the user and their needs, and Tumbleweed now provides that solution for those users who want to rely on openSUSE for their distro. Again, just like Debian, Gentoo, Arch, and other distros provide. It's all about choice, and it's not for everyone.
So I'm not saying we need to document Tumbleweed's jelly making skills because there is no expectation it makes sandwiches. But where the expectation is reasonable, I think the wiki should point out that the expectation is not going to be met.
I don't impose any "expectations" on Tumbleweed, do you? I only try to keep it constantly moving forward, and providing a workable system for anyone who wants to use it. best of luck, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
