Hello, [snip] - or -
2b) mark bugs interesting for you with a tag in bugzilla using the "named tag" bar at the bugzilla footer. You'll then get this tag as search in the footer. This is my current way to monitor various bugs - the list of bugs I tagged with "watchlist" is quite long... (Hint: sorting your bugzilla list by "last changed" is recommended to make this method useful.) Indeed.....you are right. You need to be 'in' the bugzilla to track. Following the bugs from the bugmailinglist is not the way to 'watch' or help solving bugs..

Thnx for your reply...
It is not easy to make a good bugreport, especialy the subject line is difficult. Just few ppl use the version number and distro in their subjectline. How difficult would it be (if necessary at all) to add distro and version automaticly to the subject line of the report of which the mail is going to be sent? Something like: [Bug 677425][openSUSE][11.4] `zypper dup` remove liblzma This would ease the search in mailinglist mail a lot.
Just an idea, nothing more...
Making changes to the Novell Bugzilla involves a *lot* of inertia, even for internal people. It's shared across the entire Novell product line and there are lot of considerations that go into it that are very complicated and that I'm not sure I entirely understand myself. That said, the process of trying to add features to such a heavy beast has encouraged a few of us to build a prototype bug reporting system for openSUSE that is both more lightweight and more responsive to the needs of the community. It's Bugzilla now, but even that isn't really locked down. It's not far enough along to share yet but one of the big goals is to allow community members to suggest features like these and have them be discussed with a real possibility of implementation. - -Jeff - -- Jeff Mahoney SUSE Labs -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.16 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk2CJtMACgkQLPWxlyuTD7IbwgCbBaHox2b4qSF1TsKPkki92q+Z pgIAoIdfC7nJLpJ7Lo/GV3qt9Vjy9lYr =t5AK -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
