[opensuse-factory] how debug shutdown not working?

11.4 RC1 x86_64 This system used to shutdown & poweroff just fine running 11.2. Now it doesn't poweroff though. It makes it to 'runlevel 0 reached', and hangs there. Magic sysrq keys won't even work. Ctrl-Alt-Del won't work. I have to manually power it off or reset it. I see nothing helpful in /var/log/messages.
