More like not showing any status at all :-)

And it prolly affects hardware-interaction in many other areas too.

Solution: Install hal, make sure hal starts, restart KDE.

I'm seeing this too... so far RC1 is a bit of a mess... :-( M7 was much better. Going to test installing hal. If this is required for the battery monitor to work, what happened?
