This is ok and true. It just has bugs, but that's no readon to disable it again. I'm hitting http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=590248 (X crashes after suspend to RAM with a pretty old radeon mobile card)

No, it might work well with a slightly newer X driver or with other chipsets. BTW: does 2.6.34rc2 boot for you? For me does lots of stackdumps early that I can only see with "vga=0" and then hangs hard.
