Actually, I've done both. I've installed with 256 and then dropped it
down to 64MB and it worked just fine although not recently.

I have a GUI running with my 128 MB RAM - icewm.

I ran 11.0/Beta3 on a PowerMac 6500 with 128MB RAM and IceWM and it
was slow as molassas with the stock 603e/225. With a G3/400 upgrade
it probably would have been better.

Yes, it is slow, but it works and is usable.
So the original meaning "you need at least 256 MB RAM" is wrong.
