A "kernel" module (nvidia.ko) needs to be built, so the kernel source is required and configured with "make cloneconfig && make prepare", then "sh NV*.run". This has to be done in runlevel 3, i.e X not running.
I did this, and the NV*.run worked, but then I had problem with "sax2 -m 0=nvidia" Section "Device" BoardName "GeForce2 Ti" Driver "nvidia" Identifier "Device[0]" VendorName "NVidia" EndSection

Karl needs 71.86.x since he's still using a GeForce2 Ti card. Obviously the latest available release 71.86.11 of the 71.86.x series released on 2009-06-27 is still lacking support for xorg-server 1.6. I see several options here: - switch to nv/nouveau driver - downgrade to openSUSE 11.1 - update graphics card - complain to NVIDIA Best regards, Stefan Public Key available ------------------------------------------------------ Stefan Dirsch (Res. & Dev.)
