Best way for those packages: send a mail to the maintainer of the packages. Which would be me :) I was not yet able to reproduce your error with the video you provided (running on 11.2). what I'd suggest you to do: rm -rf ~/.config/vlc rm -rf ~/.local/share/vlc The most apparent reason for this is a graphic module / filter misbehaving (did you play with the filter output modules?) Or maybe a glitch in the graphic driver exposed by the video output module. Additionally, you can try to change the video output module in the vlc configuration. Maybe you have more luck with another module.
