In fact, if it takes (nearly or is it more than?) a week to get a key package like Firefox out after a fix has been made, that is a sure sign that our build/update strategy needs to change.
And firefox wasn't the problem, but the Mesa package we had to check in a the same time and Mesa links against quite some packages.
It occurs to me that you just confirmed what I said. :-)
Many needed the Firefox fix, not a new Mesa package, and fixing a bug The Mesa package fixed a crash in X that affected many, many users.
in Mesa does not require (in principle, not necessarily in the current implementation) all those rebuilds. The rebuilds don't take a week if that's what you think. I disabled factory to finish M3 and headed into vacation. M3 has a working firefox and a working mesa and _that_ was my primary goal.
