@peter, But you were right.. after adding me to the cdrom group and logging in again, both players worked as should. It is not a big deal, but the hassle to find out what is wrong takes very much valuable time... If i imagine fresh users have to do that? They will not go this far, but say: the video player is broken, the burner does not work, this is a crappy OS, lets go back and suffer the things we know.... -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (M9.)
