It seems that kupdateapplet does work with repositories from

Does this work for anyone else?
I have not done much testing with kupdateapplet but was wondering if
"zypper up " works for you?
I have a local repository where is keep self-compiled RPMs and they would not
get updated via zypper until I created a file in /etc/zypp/vendors.d.
From /etc/zypp/zypp.conf:
##
## Defining directory which contains vendor description files.
##
## One file in this directory reflects a group of equivalent vendors. e.G.:
## (filename is "nvidia" but could be any other name):
## ------------------------- file contains begin -----------------------
## [main]
##
## vendors = nvidia,suse,opensuse
##
## ------------------------- file contains end -----------------------
## Libzypp makes an string comparision (like strncmp, case-insensitive)
## whereas the beginning of the strings are compared only.
## e.G. vendor "opensuse11.0" is compatible to "openSuSE".
##
## Valid values: A directory
## Default value: {configdir}/vendors.d
##
# vendordir = /etc/zypp/vendors.d
I suspect that you need to create a file /etc/zypp/vendors.d/packman that
contains the following:
------------------- /etc/zypp/vendors.d/packman -------------------
[main]
vendors = packman
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You might have to adjust the "vendors =" line to get the string comparison to
work. I don't have any packman packages installed, so could not try this
myself. I suspect that once zypper can update the package, then kupdateapplet
will be able to do it as well. YMMV.
